OUTSTANDING! Ofsted June 2009
At May Bank Infants School we have a long tradition of being a happy and caring school promoting high standards of behaviour and learning in a family atmosphere and were delighted in June 2009 to be declared "outstanding" in all aspects by Ofsted who said:
Children know they belong to a school that cares deeply for each one of them, and they receive guidance and support for their personal and academic development.
By providing a stimulating curriculum that links subjects together and promotes the basic skills of literacy, numeracy, and information and communication technology exceptionally well and a range of enrichment activities and a well-ordered environment, we help our children to develop a love of learning and self-confidence, as well as respect for others and the environment. Through our teaching we support children’s emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, social, moral and cultural development.
All children are given the opportunity to make the very best of their unique gifts and talents and everyone is valued. We work closely with parents to ensure that the children are happy and settled and are able to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to become confident learners as they grow and develop.
